Wings by Aprilynne Pike is a book about a girl named Laurel. When she was three she was found on a doorstep by her adoptive parents. All she knew was her name and age. The people in the house adopted her and she grew up with them. She is now 16 and is being home schooled by her parents. All is well until Laurels dad decides to sell the house and move so that he can open a book shop. They also think that it would be best to sent Laurel to a school. Laurel isn't too happy at the beginning but she accepts it. When Laurel starts going to school, she finds it hard to adjust from having only her and her mum in the room to having a lot more than two in the room. After a while she makes some friends and starts to gets used to school. When everything is going well Laurel finds something out, a secret. A secret that will change her life...for ever.
