The Butterfly Lion

The Butterfly Lion by Michael Morpurgo is about a young boy named Bertie, who rescues a white lion cub. Over time these two create a friendship that is quite rare. Sadly this bond must come to an end as Bertie's parents think it's time for him to go to boarding school in England. The white lion cub is sold to a Frenchman who is willing to pay a lot of money for the magnificent creature. Bertie promises that he would do his very best to be reunited again. I rate this book an 8/10.
