Divergent by Veronica Roth

In Beatrice Prior's Chicago, Society is divided into five factions, Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful) and Erudite (the intelligent). Every year all sixteen-year-olds must decide what faction they want to be apart of. Taking on a new name, Tris and her friends must suffer extreme physical tests and mental simulations. Tris also has a secret that she must keep hidden from everyone because it could lead to her death.
