THE PRIZE

BY
STACEY GREG

'The Prize' is about a girl called Georgie who to work as an intern for a professional horse rider called Dominic Blackwell. One of her classmates is working with her. She is called Kennedy. Kennedy is being favoured because Dominic knows her parents even though she is useless. Things start to worse for Georgie and she may not pass the internship. 'The Prize' is a good book but it is probably better for a younger reader. I would rate it 6/10.

Fup

Fup by Jim Dodge
Fup is a funny and action-packed book about insignificant
things being turned into significant ones. There are so many pros like the dialogue, story and setting that it's so hard find a con, near impossible. Other things I found memorable were the imagery and how it created a very rural American image. I truly enjoyed this book and you probably will too. The main characters are granddaddy Jake, Tiny and Fup (A female 16 pound duck)10/10.

The Thirteen Chairs

The Thirteen Chairs is a book by Dave Shelton. It is about a boy named Jack who goes into a room in  an old house. In the room is a big table, and sitting at the table is twelve story-tellers all eager to begin their story. Thy let Jack join them but he will also have to tell a story. This book is split into little sections (The stories), some of them good (Oswald), and some of them bad (Tick,Tick,Tick...). Over all it is a good book with some bad parts in it. I would recommend this book to people who like scary and mystery books. I would give it 8/10.

Plague by Micheal Grant

Plague is a continuation of the Gone series. It is the fourth book of the series. In this book Sam and his group take a big step in finding out what FAYZ is. In this story they become much more civilised and set up councils for a much more civilised and safe FAYZ, however the FAYZ is still far from safe as Drake, the boy with the whip hand is back from the dead. This brings more dangers and along with Drake as a danger there is a deadly plague which causes people who get infected to cough their guts up…. LITERALLY.

Truckers by Terry Pratchett

Truckers by Terry Pratchett is a funny and unexpected story focusing on perspective and some of life’s big questions like religion, politics and where the next meal lies. The author narrates as we watch a small, struggling clan of Nomes come face to face with wealthy powerful leaders of the Nome world. This I think is a metaphor for the rich and powerful in the west of our society and the more unfortunate people in the developing world. But the Nomes must unite and work together and find a rather dubious leader in Masklin, a bold, brash but uneducated Nome.
